How I changed it up with the PPA238 Color Challenge Card

I got up this morning thinking about changing up my PPA Color Challenge card.  Most of the cards I do are more on the harder side but I had a customer yesterday that loved my card and asked if I could show her how to make a card easy and turn it into a harder card.   So, I decided to use my PPA e card because I loved the colors they picked and I just loved that card with one of my newest Stamp sets-Something Lacy in the new Occasions Catalog.  Something Lacy is shown on page 43 and is one of Stampin' Ups large background stamps (it measures 4 13/15 x 6) so its PERFECT for a backgound.  It comes in both wood  #137155 or clear mount #138900  for $13.95.  But that is not all....It is in the wedding section of our catalog but it just doesn't have to be used for a wedding.  As you can see below I have used it for Valentines day.  And I will be using it for many other projects to come.  I will start off with my lst PPA Color Challenge card.

This card I changed up the sentiment and using dimensionals I popped up the heart border embossing folder with the scallop border punch.  I also added a ribbon with a knot to change it up a bit.  The Be Mine is from the You Plus Me Stamp set and the heart w/arrow is in it also.

Set someone's heart in twitterpation with a card you make using the images in this set. Perfect for valentines, anniversaries, birthdays, and more. Set quantity: 10. The arrows in the heart I stamped using my markers.  Cut them out and then cut in 1/2 & glued them onto the back of the heart.  Easy! I love this card!!!  I think it turned out very nice and is a medium hard card to make. My last card is my hardest card I made today.  AND I LOVE IT!!!!! harder On this card I measured and cut the background into 4 even pieces & I stamped 2 backgounds.  (I only cut 1 into pieces).  Mounted them using my Multi purpose Liquid glue  pg 204 in the AC onto a piece of Rose Red c/s and colored the flowers.    I did change up the colors a little.  But the sizes all remained the same.  The border on this card is made with Basic Gray and embossed with the heart embossing folder.  The border on top is punched with the scallop border punch out of Pink Piroutte c/s.  The Ribbon is  NEW Whisper White Seam Binding #134573 pg 207 in the AC.   I measured the length of the ribbon around my card and cut it-then I made the bow and cut it.  Then I proceeded to color the ribbon.          To Color the ribbon I mixed 4 drops Basic Gray ink (refill) & alcohol.  Added both pieces of ribbon and let it soak.  When I got the color I wanted I took the ribbon  out and dried it with my Heat Tool pg 213  #129053.(the ribbon dries lighter than when it is wet)  Then I got out my my Stampin' Spritzer pg 210 #126185 & mixed alcohol with 2 drops of Rose Red ink refill and spritzed the Gray ribbon til I got the color I wanted.  Dried it with my Heat Tool, made my bow and added it to my card.   Next, I colored the flowers on 2nd background piece.  Then I cut them out and with a dimensional I popped them up on the card.  Not all of them are popped up.  Then I got out my crystal Effects, pg 204  in the A/C  #101055 and used it on the popped up flower centers.  (Make sure you cut the edges off if they go over the board edge.  I added my sentiment -crystal effects on my Heart w/arrow and I LOVE THIS CARD!!!!!  So you can see no matter if the card is easy or hard---The all are BEAUTIFUL!!! PPA238- A Color Challenge

Here is the latest PPA238 Challenge.  It's a color challenge and I LOVE these colors....especially when you use them all together.  Do you want to join and add your creation click here to go to their website.  Here are the colors they picked for this challenge.

This card measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.

Basic Gray c/s  5 3/8 x 4 1/8

Something Lacy Background Stamp on pg 43 O/C

Rose Red c/s 1 1/2 x 5 3/8- ran thru heart embossing folder (retired)

1 strip punched out of Pink Piroutte with Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch-cut in half to use on top and bottom of heart border.

Pink Piroutte Blendabilites  & Rose Red marker used to color flowers and stamp the saying.

Stamp set is You Plus Me  on pg 5 in the O/C

The frame is a frame embossing folder (retired)  BUT pg 227 in the A/C we have a new one.

For the frame I stamped and hand cut out around the frame leaving the ends of the arrows out to go over the Rose Red cut out piece and Basic Gray.  Then around the edges I used dazzling diamonds to get a little POP.  I placed Rhinestones in the center of some of the flowers.  

Easy Card to make but I think it looks elegant.  What do you think? 

Let's Spread Some JOY this Christmas...PPA Color Challenge PPA230

I know most of you know that my FAVORITE Stamp set Stampin' Up came out with this year is called  the Wondrous Wreath Stamp set.  Every class I've had so far we have used it and because I love it so much I have been making all my Christmas cards using this set.  So,  if your wondering why I haven't been posting those cards its because many of you will be getting one of those and I do not want to spoil the fun of Christmas card giving.  But this one is for this Pal's Paper Arts Challenge (PPA230) that I came upon this week.  Here is the link if you care to join in the fun.

 Here are the colors they chose and here is the card I made using those colors.  I had so much fun doing this card I am going to join in the fun with this again.  I hope you do too.

Here is my "Let's Spread Some Joy" card I have made.

The colors I used are Cherry Cobbler, Baked Brown Sugar & Very Vanilla.  I used both the ink and the card stock.  The stamp set is Wondrous Wreath #135047  $25.95 pg 9 (HC)  & the Framelits that goes with this set is #135851 $24.95 pg 9 (HC) or you can purchase  Stamp set and the Framelits in a Bundles-saving 15%  # 137624  $43.25  pg 9 (HC)  I also used the Filligree Frame Textured Impressions Embossing folder, #135818 pg 15 in the Holiday Catalog.  

The Wreath is done in Baked Brown Sugar Ink, then stamped in Versa Mark and sprinkled with Heat & Staick Powder  #100625  $4.50 pg 213 (AC). ( I did the same with the bow)  I then used Dazzling Diamonds on top then stamped the berries and added Burgandy Stickles to make them pop.  Two tiny bells I hung from the bow  using gold Metallic Baker's Twine  #132975  $3.50  pg 206 (AC)

(The word JOY is included in the Framelits along with the word NOEL)
