Valentine ideas?

Here is one of my Valentines for this year.  I made a box inside the outside tag that holds 3 Ghirardelli Candies.  You can't see the box but I covered it with Valentine paper from the NEW Occasions catalog.  (The outside paper is some I had leftover so I used it and I LOVED it)
The paper is:
Stacked with Love DSP Stack
#137779  pg 5
$6.95
48 sheets in each stack
4 of 12 double sided designs that measure 4 1/2" x 6 1/2"

(side view -box slides out to open to get candy)
The stamp set is a retired stamp set but it is my FAVORITE Valentine Stamp set and
I use it EVERY year.

Hope you like the first of my Valentine ideas for this year.

Sale-A-Bration Stamp Lotus Blossom

I love this stamp set.  It is the Lotus Blossom Set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog on page 7.  I was talking last night to one of my friends who said as we were going thru the catalog, " I don't know if I like this stamp set-what would I do with it?"  And I said,  I love it and I'll show you - so Carol here you are my Lotus Blossom Birthday Card.  Don't you just love it?  And it was Easy Peasy!!!!!!  Have you tried stamping the 3 step card in 3 different colors?  Well, actually I used 2 colors but stamped off the 2nd & 3rd stamp two times - just to make the color lighter.  And it worked so well.  Then I decided it needed some leaves on that stem.  So I got out my Painted Petals Stamp set and used the leaves to accent the stem.  LOVE IT and of course I needed to use my FAVORITE Stamp set..... Gorgeous Grunge in the A/C to bring out the Daffodil Delight in the rose.  Simple but pretty.  Do you like it?  Let me know what you think.

Remember, Sale-A-Bration runs until March 31st.  For every $50.00 you spend before shipping & handling you get a FREE Sale-A-Bration item from the SAB catalog.  Need a catalog....??? give me a call and I will get one right out to you.  Enjoy your day.

Dryer sheets? REALLY???

Butterfly Basics pg 26 Occasions Catalog 2015

Ok, so how many of you try to stay away from these intricate framelits with all the little pieces that never all come out?  I know I did until someone has found a WAY COOL way to make the pieces come out.
All you have to do.....and this is REALLY REALLY EASY....
get some unscented dryer sheets.  Doesn't matter what kind but the scented ones leave a film on you sandwich plates of your embossing machine.  So I use the unscented and they work perfect.  All I do is.
Run you framelit thru you embossing machine...I use the Big Shot but this works on all of the machines.  Remove the outside paper only leaving the butterfly intact in the framelit.  Then I used 2 dryer sheets-open them up and folded them in half so you have 4 pieces- and run it thru and back.  Be careful when you pick up the framelit b/c those pieces come right out and there you have a perfect butterfly.  I have also tried this with some of the embossing folders that have a spongey like material on them and they work perfectly.  This is a GREAT and easy way to use Dryer sheets.  Oh, and you can use the same sheets over and over again.  I am still using my lst ones I started with.  Hope you enjoyed this little tip.

Love the New Stamp sets in the NEW Occasions catalog....Do you?

This is the Painted Petals Stamp set on pg 19 in the NEW Occasions.  Now I did alter the card alittle by using some of the stamps from the Sheltering Tree on pg 22 and the Butterfly Basics on pag 26.  This was such an easy card to make.....let me get on with it and you can tell me if you think it is easy.
Card bases-Whisper White C/S  4 1/4x 5 1/2
Stamp sets
Painted Petals 2 Step-  13 stamps - pg 19  (w) 138818  $32.95 or (C) #138822  $24.95  (P) #137146  $23.95 (I got the photopolymer stamps-- (I LOVE Photopolymer)
Sheltering Tree  14 Stamps pg 22  Photopolymer only  #137163  $24.95  Very cute set!
Butterfly Basics  11 stamps pg 26  (w) 138813   $47.95(c)138816   $35.95 Photopolymer #137154  $23.95
(This stamp set comes in a bundle-including the stamp set and the Butterflies thinlits Dies.  You receive a discount of 15% when you buy the bundle.  I like to save money)
Bundle prices:  15% off
(w) #139322  $61.95
(c) #139323   $51.75
(P) #138865  $41.50  (I got this one)

inks
Pink Pirouette  #131180
Melon Mambo  #126948
Pear Pizzazz  #131180
Chocolate Chip  #126979  Stamped off 2x's

I stamped the Chocolate Chip honeycomb first.  I moistened a towel with lite water and dabbed it on the chocolate chip ink.  It changes the color to a little more red/orangy color.  (Do not get it very wet or it will run)
I then stamped the stems.  When I added the flowers I used the Melon Mambo ink and stamped on and stamped again for the lighter color.
The tiny flowers I used my ink pins. (same colors but Easier to use  coloring one flower one at a time).

I then stamped the 3 lines in Pear Pizzaazz and then stamped over the lines using one of the stamps in the Sheltering Tree stamp set.

Added a sentiment and I was done in Chocolate Chip ink.   Easy Peasy!!!!!  I am going to make this card again and make it a step up to medium & then the same card but HARDER.  Let me know what you you think.  Have a great day!

Hello Life

 Hello Life

                                                                   from Stampin' UP Blog
The new occasions catalog is out, and I’m so excited for everyone to see the great new products for sale. I have so many favorites that it’s difficult to pick just one!
One stamp set that stood out for me is the Hello Life set, which coordinates with the Hello Life Project Kit. To me, it feels perfect for Valentine’s Day.
I really love the long, scripty words, so I used the “So sweet” on a note card with some confetti hearts stamped in Blushing Bride. These are so quick and easy, yet adorable.
Click here to go to Stampin' Up Hello Life Blog

The next card was a little more involved. I created a little heart shaker window and filled it with punched Gold Foil Sheets using the Confetti Hearts Border Punch. To create the striped background, I masked horizontal stripes using washi tape, then spritzed using Blushing Bride Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill and the Stampin’ Spritzer.

The last little card I made showcases the cute heart images in the stamp set. And any color looks good on a neutral card base, so I’ve paired Real Red and Blushing Bride with Crumb Cake.

I really enjoyed working with this stamp set. It’s a great for using with the kit—and so much more!

Cute Clothespin Crafts by Stampin' Up

Cute Clothespin Crafts
Have you ever made a refrigerator magnet using a clothespin? Just put some Designer Series Paper on the back of the clothespin using Sticky Strip (I used the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack). Then adhere a magnet to the other side of the clothespin. That’s it! These would be great for leaving love notes (coupons, movie tickets) on the fridge for Valentine’s Day.
Clothespins are also great for making a quick and easy wreath! Just purchase an 11-1/2" wire wreath (or any size you want) in the floral section of the craft store, then clip on the clothespins. (I spray painted the wreath gold, first.)

I kind of liked the way the wreath looked without a whole lot of ornamentation—just a few die-cut hearts and a stamped sentiment.
If you’re wondering how to get the white-on-black chalkboard look: stamp using VersaMark ink, cover the ink using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, then heat the stamped image with a Heat Tool. (Be sure to first rub the Embossing Buddy across the paper; this will prevent the embossing paper from sticking anywhere but the ink.)
Here’s a different look:

I love huge stamps. This sentiment is from the Big on You photopolymer set.

You, could, of course, cover ALL of the clothespins with Designer Series Paper strips. And it would be super-easy to change the clothespin wreath’s look to suit any holiday.

Just for fun, I thought I’d throw in a few ideas for Valentine’s Day gifting. (No clothespins, this time . . . but Stampin’ Up!’s clothespin embellishments would have looked great with these!)

Love and Birthday Wishes instructions

Just as I promised here is how I made the Love & Birthday Wishes card.

#100730 pg 183--Whisper White c/s  (3 total WW c/s)
1-5 1/2 x 4 1/4, 1- 3 3/4 x 2 7/8, 1- 3 1/4 x 3 1/4

  1- 3 3/8 x 3 3/8
  #115320  pg 180 --Melon Mambo c/s
  1- 5 1/4 x 4
Emboss the 3 3/4 x 2 7/8 - I used the NEW Happy Heart Textured Embossing folder on pg 9 in the NEW Occasions Catalog   #137364  $7.95
Ribbon with a Bow.  I used  WW and added a little heart of Melon Mambo c/s punched from the NEW Confetti Heart Border Punch pg 5  #137415  $21.95 in the OC
I also punched out hearts in WW c/s for the 3 hearts on the top right side and the bottom left side.  Stamp Set is the Butterfliy Basics pg 26.
(w) #138813 $47.95
(C) #138816  $35.95
Photopolymer  #137154  $23.95  LOVE LOVE LOVE Photopolymer Stamps!

Photopolymer  #138865  $41.50
These coordinate with the Bitty Butterfly, 3/4" Circles Punches on pgs 219 & 221 AC
The butterflies I used Daffodil Delight ink and then took my Blendabilities and added color to each butterfly so they would be similar but not the same.  Folded them on each side of the wing & popped them up in the center with a dimensional  pg 204  #130654  $3.95 to make them fly off the page.  Dazzling diamonds around the edges of each butterfly to make them shine.
Next, I used Old Olive ink and triple stamped to get the color difference.  The saying is from the same stamp set.  I used the EX Large Oval punch pg 221  #119859  $16.95-then punched out 2 more to accent around the saying, popped it up using a dimensional.
Fun Card to make and not too hard.  Any question just send me a note.   Let me know what you think and I hope you have a Wonderful Week!!!

Valentines Day will be here sooner than we think.....so I made my lst Valentines card today

The NEW Occasions Catalog has about all the Special days covered.  And Valentines Day is first.
Today I sat down and made my lst Valentines card/treat holder.  I will be making this same card and  using them as Valentines Treat holders....Check out the card and then I will tell you how to change it up to make it into a treat holder.
This is a triangle card.  See at the bottom where I added a little flap for it to sit in.
Then I added some Whisper White C/S so I could write on for my older kids.

Here at the top or bottom of the Whisper White C/S I will add a piece of sticky strip and add a
candy bar of some kind.  Now I have some candy and a message for that sweetheart of mine.
Instructions for my Valentines Card.

1 piece of Real Red C/S  #102482  pg 180 A/C
 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
score at 1/2", 2 1/2", 6 1/8"
Hearts Collection Framelits  #125599 pg 231 A/C
I used die # 2,3,4,5
I cut 2 of die #4  one in Real Red and the other in  Whisper White.
The smallest die #2 I cut 1 and then I laid it down on a piece of WW C/S and cut a white heart so high lite the Real Red heart.  The #4 heart I used the WW heart and cut the Real Red heart a little more than 1/2 and piece it on the outside of the WW to make a outline.  There is a small part where the paper is not along the side and I used Real Red ink to ink the edges.  The one polka dot heart is a WW heart cover in red & white tissue paper. (not Stampin' UP)
I used the Embossing folder that was in the Holiday Catalog 2014-15.  Filigree Frame I think was the name of it.  It embossed around the outside edges of the paper.
Lotus Blossom Stamp set  in the Sale-A-Bration catalog on pg 7 is the rose I used and and a stamp that has been gone is what I used for the love you saying.
You Plus Me Stamp Set pg 5 in the Occasions catalog  #137133 (w)  #138594 (C) is the Be Mine saying.
Confetti Heart Border Punch is used inside the card and  the white hearts on the outside of the card are the hearts punched out of the inside paper.
Whisper White Craft Ink  # 101731  pg 210  refill #101780 pg 210
Bone Folder  #102300 pg 214

I hope you liked this card.  I would be happy to answer any questions about this cards.  Let me know if I can be of any help to you.
If you need a catalog and do not presently have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator I would be honored if you would give me a chance to help you.  Please feel free to contact me and I will get back to you quickly as possible.
Thanks you!

The Valentine heart stands up and is heavily embossed and has a beautiful shine to it that makes it POP off the paper.  And to make that all you need is to punch 6-8 hearts 9 I used the NEW SWEETHEART  punch on page 222 - #133786  $15.95 in the  A/C.  Glue all the layers together-one on top of the other.  I then just started adding color to the heart.  The paper I used was Real Red.  I used chocolate chip ink and dabed it randomly all over the heart.  I then used Gold Metallic Encore ink pg 211 in the A/C #132141  $9.95  and gold embossing powder on pg 213 A/C  #109129 $4.95.  Heat set it and before it dried completely I rubbed it with my finger to give it a rugged look.  Added some red ink and some more chocolate chip ink then some Cherry Cobbler embossing powder and rubbed it again with my finger.  It made this beautiful thick heart.  I used some more gold and daubed it and let it dry.  Then with the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen pg 211 A/C  #105021  $3.95 I highlited the edge of the heart. I then punched out a heart and layed it down on my card-where I wanted it and using the red dauber I inked around the place I was going to put the heart.  I then  popped it up using Stampin' Dimensional pg 204  #104430  $3.95.  Up close you can see all the different colors & how shinny, and pretty it is.  I am going to make another one tonite and add a pin to the back for someone to be able to remove it from the card and wear it.  The hearts I punched using the NEW Confetti Heart punch pg 5 #137415  $21.95.
I used the Filligree Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on pg 15 in the Holiday Catalog,  #135818  $7.95 to make the border on my card.  I love this embossing folder and it is only available until January5, 2014.

Hope you liked this Valentine Card.  It was an easy and fun card-especially making the heart.  Try making one-you too will see how easy it is.  Just keep adding ink and embossing powders and ruff up the embossing powders with your finger.  As you keep adding the texture the embossing powders will change colors and pretty soon you will have a beautiful heart.
Have a wonderful weekend!
